Frequently asked questions about tattoos

HOW DO I BOOK A TATTOO SESSION IN BUCHAREST WITH NIMENI?

Direct message NimeniTTT on Insta or use the contact form here. You can also send an email with a description of the design, some photo reference, and your preferred dates to schedule. This will enable me to process your request quickly and efficiently. I can schedule appointments a minimum of two to three weeks in advance.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET A TATTOO?

You must be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo. But if you are a minor of 14 to 17 years old, you can have a tattoo with signed parental consent

HOW MUCH DOES A TATTOO COST?

It depends on the piece, that is, the final price is dependent on size, detail of the design, location on the body where it will be placed, but all tattoos start at €60 or RON300.

HOW CAN I GET A PRICE QUOTE?

The best way to get an accurate price range is by booking a (free!) consultation with the artist—yours truly – if not in person, then through a brief detailed direct message. In order for me to quote your idea, I need to consider the subject, size, placement on the body, detail, etc. You are also welcome to come into the shop and talk to me, either in Bucharest @Old Bastards or wherever I am a guest tattooer in the world at the moment. I am allways more than happy to help get you the information you need.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A WALK-IN SESSION?

Generally, being a resident artist, I am booked a few weeks in advance and the term “walk-in” means you don’t need an appointment. But if it so happens that I might be free once in a while @either shop where I tattoo, then the session will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis with cancellation availability permitting. I will always do my best to accommodate your request.

DOES GETTIN A TATTOO HURT?

Yes it does, my friend. In some places on your body getting a tattoo hurts a lot more than in others. But as some of the best might say, the pain comes in the best possible way: your brain releases endorphins when you go through this sort of pain. So, yes, it does hurt, but you’ll kinda like it, you little weirdo.

HOW LONG DOES A TATTOO TAKE TO HEAL?

Know that you need to care for your tattoo to heal and it takes two weeks to “heal,” and a couple of months for the skin to fully regenerate.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY NEW TATTOO?

Every shop and tattoo artist has their own recommended care for tattoos methods. You will be given instruction after you’ve been tattooed. But generally, as WebMD suggests: “gently wash the tattoo with antimicrobial soap and water and be sure to pat dry. Apply a layer of antibacterial/Vaseline ointment twice a day, but don’t put on another bandage. Gently wash your tattoo area twice a day with soap and water and gently pat dry before reapplying the antibacterial/Vaseline ointment.”

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED FOR GETTING A TATTOO?

Whatever the shop I am guesting at accepts, generally credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, but no checks, please.

DO I NEED TO LEAVE A DEPOSIT IF I DECIDE TO SCHEDULE A TATTOO APPOINTMENT?

If you commit to a design and the piece is bit, yes, a 25% deposit is required to make an appointment. Deposits are, as you can imagine, non-refundable and non-transferable, but will be, of course, applied to the final price of your tattoo.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TATTOO?

I recommend that you eat well before the session, and to stay hydrated. Coming in without drinking any water after walking all day on an empty stomach is a sure recipe for passing out. It’s best not to party the night before because alcohol can increase bleeding for up to 24 hours. Blood dilutes pigments, affecting both the appearance of your tattoo as well as the healing process. If you’ll start to feel woozy, you can have a soda as sugar will be your ally in this situation.
